The Bozeman Valentine Concert was a great musical evening! There were new songs ala “In Memory of Elizabeth Reid” , Canzonetta, and the Flatbush Waltz. There were new versions of our old tunes; “Moonlight Morning”, “Blake’s March”, and “Dance of the Sandhill”. Jesse Ahman played a smokin’ cello version of “Flight of the Bumblebee” and Dennis White went “Over the Rainbow” with his mandolin solo.

The Emerson Cultural Center was an excellent historic venue with its newly remodeled seating area and equipment. There were many new faces in our audience as well as the community of Montana's music lovers who made the pilgrimage from afar.

Thank you Bozeman for the wonderful response to our Eighth Annual Valentine's Day Concert.

The Montana Mandolin Society
Announcing their Eighth Annual Bozeman Valentine Concert
Friday, February 15th 7:30 PM
Emerson Cultural Center Theater

The Montana Mandolin Society carries on a 106 year old Bozeman tradition!  Each February the ensemble commemorates the existence of the Bozeman Mandolin and Guitar Club of 1902.
On February 14th 1902 the Club invited a world renowned mandolin virtuoso, Samuel Seigel who came to Bozeman to perform with them.  The Concert was documented in the local Bozeman newspapers of the time and inspired mandolin players all over Montana.  There were mandolin orchestras in Butte, Miles City, BigTimber, Dupuyer, Helena, Livingston, Fort Shaw and Missoula each having a their own mandolin history.

The Montana Mandolin Society has a goal and a professional role as Montana's Mandolin Ambassador.  They have represented Montana as such in Washington D.C., on National Public Radio-ALL THINGS CONSIDERED, at the JF Kennedy Center, at the Kanto Mandolin Orchestra Festival in Tokyo Japan, and at our Sister City Celebration in Kumamoto Japan.

Concert attendees come from all over Montana and the Northwest to hear the ensemble's always new, always varied Montana Sound.

Doors open at 7:00 PM
